Daniel Cappello

Daniel Cappello is a writer, editor, and strategic consultant.

He has worked on the editorial staffs of The New Yorker, Quest, George, and Harvard Current magazines, and has handled subjects from health and science to politics, fashion, culture, travel, and the arts. He has written for The New York Times, Town & Country, Architectural Digest, LeapsMag, Playbill, Dance, Galerie, 2wice Arts, Ralph Lauren’s RL Mag, and London’s The Mayfair Magazine. He is the author of The Ivy League and Dinner Diaries.

Daniel served President Bill Clinton as Director of Specialty Press and has worked on such creative projects as Richard Avedon’s final photographic portfolio, “Democracy,” and the redesign and installation of the permanent exhibit “First Lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy” at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, in Boston.

He established the Junior Council of American Ballet Theatre and is former head of its Strategic Planning Committee. He is a founding member of the Resource Council for Trey McIntyre Project, the modern dance group, and acts as adjunct to the board of the New Jersey Scholars Program, at the Lawrenceville School.

He supports cancer research and education, with a focus on rare cancers and sarcomas. At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, he is a mentor for Visible Ink, a program that helps cancer patients express their experiences through writing.

Daniel received his A.B. degree in Government from Harvard University, where he also earned a Citation in French Language.
